ICH Singles Coordinated Assessment and Housing Placement (CAHP) Work Group

The Singles Coordinated Assessment and Housing Placement (CAHP) Work Group supports the Strategic Planning Committee by implementing the initiative to end chronic homelessness in the District.

Coordinated Assessment and Housing Placement (CAHP or also known as Coordinated Entry) is the process for implementing a “no wrong door” approach by creating standardized access (including assessment, referral, and placement) to permanent housing resources.

ICH Housing Solutions Committee

The Housing Solutions Committee of the Interagency Council on Homelessness is responsible for assessing the need for permanent housing resources and identifying gaps. In conjunction with the Strategic Planning Committee, the committee makes recommendations to funders on annual investment priorities. The committee serves as a formal link to broader affordable housing efforts in the community. Efforts include developing strategies to incentivize participation of landlords and developers.

On Tuesday 9/19, the ICH convened for its third meeting of 2017. At the meeting, the ICH reviewed and voted to adopt the 2017-2018 Winter Plan, which describes how the Continum of Care (member agencies and community providers) will coordinate to provide hypothermia shelter and services. In addition to the Winter Plan, the meeting also highlighted the Coordinated Assessment and Housing Placement (CAHP) System for Singles.

The Shelter Capacity Monitoring Work Group of the Interagency Council on Homelessness supports the Emergency Response and Shelter Operations Committee by monitoring system utilization and capacity to inform planning and budgeting as well as special efforts on shelter transformation.

7/19 Update: The Landlord Outreach Work Group (LOWG) will be joing the monthly HUM Landlord Meeting on August 28 at 6 pm to facilitate a landlord/provider mixer in anticipation of the Landlord Mitigation Fun Kickoff in the Fall.

Public Comment Session: Draft FY18 Winter Plan

Public Comment Session on the proposed 2017-2018 Winter Plan for the District of Columbia. The event will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017, 2 pm - 4 pm, at the Shaw (Watha T. Daniel) Public Library, 1630 7th St. NW, in the large meeting room in the basement. COHHO is sponsoring this public event on behalf of the ICH ERSO Committee.

ICH Medicaid Work Group

The Medicaid Work Group of the Interagency Council on Homelessness supports the Housing Solutions Committee by coordinating the effort to establish Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) as a health care service and leverage Medicaid to pay for PSH services.

CANCELLED ICH Landlord Outreach Work Group

7/19 Update: Just a heads up, during our last meeting we decided not to have a meeting for August. We also decided to have a landlord/ provider mixer during the monthly HUM landlord meeting as a small event leading up to the larger landlord mitigation fund kickoff in the fall.

So save the date: August 28th, 6p at Community Connections.
