Synina Pugh, Special Advisor

Synina is the Special Advisor for emergency response and shelter operations, leading numerous initiatives to operationalize systems that assist shelter engagements with the homeless community. Synina is also the lead for Shelter Redesign of the Single Adult System on behalf of the ICH. She brings over 18 years of property and facility management experience to the ICH team along with the designation of Real Property Administrator.

Before joining the ICH, Synina, worked in the private sector, managing a diverse and robust commercial real estate portfolio for several major real estate companies, including Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) and Spaulding & Slye. She also served as the facilities manager for the Democratic National Committee (DNC) before managing the portfolio for the DC Department of Human Services, where she served as lead in critical improvements to shelter conditions, developed a scope of work on shelter renovations, and supported the design of the District’s Short-term Family Housing properties.

Synina is a native of Washington, DC who attained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). She currently lives in Washington DC and actively advocates for the arts, outdoor green space and education.
